Health Tips - Diet

The weight loss solution is fairly simple when you really look at it... a person’s caloric intake must be less than the calories expended each day. There are two angles from which to approach this idea – reduce the amount of calories you eat each day, and increase the number of calories spent by exercising more. The potential dangers of dieting come into play when you reduce the amount of food you eat to a dangerous point. You do not get enough of the most important nutrients, and your body may fail to function efficiently or properly without these critical vitamins and minerals. Also, by not taking in enough calories, you can soon find they have much lower energy levels, difficulty concentrating, and many other problems. Dehydration in Arizona is also a problem faced by dieters who do not drink enough fluids. Rapid weight loss, which results from drastic reductions in caloric intake, leads to more serious problems as the body loses lean body tissue in order to provide the fuel necessary for main functions such as brain and nervous system activity.

The best way to avoid these potential dieting dangers is to be sure to continue to eat a variety of healthy foods from Arizona's more health conscious grocery stores like Sprouts or Whole Foods. Just as important as this is the need to be sure to drink plenty of water to remain properly hydrated. It is important to lose weight while also being sure to eat enough to remain healthy.

The key is moderation. Otherwise known as portion control. Eat a variety of healthful foods, such as protein, fruits and vegetables. Don’t overdo it by eating too much of any one thing. Reducing total fat and increasing the amount of fiber in your diet are also important.

Dieting in Arizona can be risky during the really hot parts of the year. Please make sure to stay hydrated and maintain enough calorie intake to create the energy required to resist heat stroke and fatigue.
